Life Drawing

As a former fine arts and illustration student, I never had the opportunity to learn about poses and gesture drawings in person. I’ve made the changes now that I understand the importance of capturing with my eyes and channelling the line of motion with my hands.

However, I am not exceptionally skilled in implementing and portioning human gesture drawings, but I get there at every structure at a time.

For the first 30 seconds of each of my life sketching sessions, it had been a disaster. Although it is a warm-up for your hands to grasp motion, it is a continuous session that I doubt will improve until I sketch every day for the rest of my life. Most of the seminars I’ve attended had one or two occasions where I felt like my hands were coordinating with my eyes.

On a personal level, the 1-minute sessions were a little complicated because I could make it look like a 30-second drawing or something closer to a 2-minute picture, which was a task. This one is still struggling to find a good balance.

There were improvements in understanding and execution of pose structure and gesture detailing. This section provided little insight into capturing small details (not much), but it was a more comprehensive brain snapshot.

I hope to improve my coordination and learn to draw structurally rather than appropriately.

Hello There!!

I usually call myself a passionate but sloppy artist who aspires to create her own Animation and Illustration content. This website is a small record of my experiences taking a course that piques my interest but is mostly outside my comfort zone. Something I never thought I’d do, but here I am!

I don’t know if I can inspire, but I try to surprise myself as much as possible; these are those moments.
